Kamakhya Temple • Transfer to Shillong
Arrive at Guwahati airport/railway station. Visit the ancient Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred Shakti Peeths in India, perched on Nilachal Hills. After darshan, begin the scenic 3-hour drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya known as the "Scotland of the East." Check-in to hotel, freshen up and enjoy evening at Bara Bazaar. Dinner and overnight stay at Shillong.

After breakfast, explore Shillong city. Visit the picturesque Ward's Lake with its beautiful gardens and boating facility. Visit the famous Living Root Bridge — a natural wonder created by guiding rubber tree roots across streams over centuries. Enroute, stop at Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest plunge waterfall. After breakfast, check out and begin the long scenic drive to Kaziranga National Park in Assam (approx. 8-9 hours via Jorhat). After breakfast, check out and drive towards Tawang via Tezpur. This is one of the most scenic drives in India, crossing the breathtaking Sela Pass at 13,700 feet. Stop at Sela Lake and the sacred Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to a brave Indian soldier of the 1962 Indo-China war. Cross through pristine alpine landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and Buddhist prayer flags. Arrive at Tawang by evening. Check-in to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
